Bridgestone Recommended For Kawasaki Z1000SX

Kawasaki Z1000SX Tyres

In the 27th January 2016 edition of Motorcycle News, Senior Tester Adam Child has been helping a reader with his tyre question.

MCN reader Mark owns a 2011-model Kawasaki Z1000SX, which after covering just 2,700 miles is still on the original rubber but in need of replacements.

In his response, Adam says:

Bridgestone Battlax S20 Evo H Rated“From memory, the original tyres on the 2011 model were Dunlops and they weren’t particularly impressive either. I ran a Z1000SX on our 2014 long-term test fleet and that model came with Bridgestone S20s as standard. They lasted a respectable 5500 miles and I had no problems throughout my time with them. There is now an S20 Evo version, which wears better than the straight S20, and Bridgestone have just released an S21, which we are testing soon.”

Adam also comments that the price of the Bridgestone tyres in relation to some of their rivals are also very attractive.

With a 120/70 ZR17 front and 190/50 ZR17 rear as standard, the original equipment Battlax S20 for the later model is still available although the standard specification tyres in these sizes have now been replaced by the Battlax S20 EVO, which brought improvements in both wet and dry grip, along with increased durability.

Even better, the Battlax S20 EVO price has fallen in 2016 as Bridgestone introduce a new flagship hypersport tyre at the pinnacle of their range – the Battlax S21.

This means it is now even better value!
