With an expanded range of sizes available for 2016, Performance Bikes are reporting that the Dunlop Alpha 13 will be put to the test this year by riders in the Aprilia Superteen Challenge.
The tyre has already been available elsewhere around the world, but arrived in the country via Dunlop UK as of last year, initially in just two sizes.
A road legal track day and race tyre aimed at light and middleweight sportsbikes, it uses Dunlop’s Multi-Tread Technology and Carcass Tension System to deliver excellent outright grip at all angles of lean.
In their March 2016 edition, Performance Bikes also state that Aprilia RSV450GP Challenge and Thundersport 500 riders will be trying out the tyre as they seek optimum lap times and consistent performance throughout the duration of the race.
Dunlop are confident that the Alpha 13 will be able to deliver on all those fronts with a sharper profile, improved construction and optimised tread pattern.
With 17″ and 18″ inch sizes there is also the potential to use the tyre on some post-classic race bikes, and Performance Bikes will be trying them out on their Project Bandit 600 racer later this year.
