German manufacturer Metzeler have very recently announced that the renowned Dunlop brothers Michael and William will be choosing to use the brand for all road racing competitions in 2014.
This will see the brothers added to an all star line-up which includes the likes of Guy Martin, Josh Brookes and James Hillier.
The Dunlop brothers come from the most successful family in road racing, with their father Robert registering 5 TT wins and 15 North West 200 victories. Their legendary uncle Joey Dunlop won the TT 26 times, adding to that with 24 Ulster GP and 13 North West 200 wins.
Although still very young, Michael and William have already shown the potential to follow in family footsteps with a number of Isle of Man TT and NW 200 victories between them.
The Dunlop brothers first outing on Metzeler will be at the Cookstown 100 this weekend, before they move on to the North West 200 from 10th – 17th May. Following one of the biggest sporting events in Ireland they will move on to the Tourist Trophy from 24th May to 6th June. You can also see them at the Southern 100 Post TT Races, Ulster Grand Prix and Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix. A very full calendar for any road racing fan which promises plenty of action!
