
Despite being new on the market this year, Dunlop are keen to stress the wide range of machines for which the new SportSmart 2 Max has already been approved as a suitable fitment.
Replacing the now discontinued SportSmart 2, it features a revised front profile for greater feel and confidence when cornering, and is even suitable for the occasional track day.
With more than 600 homologations already, the new range covers sports and naked bikes such as:
- BMW S1000RR
- Yamaha YZF-R1
- Suzuki GSX-R1000
- Honda Fireblade
- Triumph Speed Triple
The Dunlop has also been approved on some more exotic machinery including Ducati’s 916 and MV Agusta’s F4.
A number of mixed approvals have also been announced by the manufacturer. For example, owners of motorcycles using currently fitted with the original SportSmart 2 can fit a single SportSmart 2 Max if required, as opposed to changing the pair.
Even bikes fitted with Dunlop original equipment tyres, such as Kawasaki’s Z800, which comes out of the factory on the Dunlop D214, or the Honda VDE 800F, which came with the Dunlop D222, can be fitted with a single SportSmart 2 Max tyre if necessary.
