Michelin Scorcher 21 For Harley Street Rod

Harley-Davidson Street Rod Michelin Scorcher 21

We knew that the new Scorcher 21 was coming from Michelin in 2017, we just didn’t know what bike it would be appearing on!

Well now we do, as Michelin have announced their latest OE deal with Harley-Davidson to supply all tyres for the new Street Rod model.

The French tyre giant have been working with Harley-Davidson since 2007, and they’ve worked together to co-develop some of the latest advanced tyre technologies for cruisers.

Michelin’s new Scorcher 21, which comes in a 120/70 R17 M/C 58V TL front and 160/60 R17 M/C 69V TL rear, has taken two years to develop and combines outstanding wet grip and stability with that all-important cruiser styling.

The Scorcher 21 uses aramid fibre within it’s construction for increased durability along with a lightweight feel. The latest Silica Rain technology compound, which uses 100% silica, reportedly delivers grip in cold, wet and damp conditions whilst also boosting tyre life.

Harley-Davidson and Michelin co-operated closely on the Scorcher 31 derived tread pattern to ensure that not only did it deliver optimum performance but also fitted in perfectly with the styling of the new machine.

This will be the 12th Harley model to be fitted with tyres from Michelin’s Scorcher range, as the brand goes from strength to strength in this sector.
