Despite phenomenal success in both World Superbikes and British Superbikes, sales of the Kawasaki ZX-10R superbike still lag way behind a number of rivals in the UK, such as the BMW S1000RR.
In an effort to change this, Kawasaki have seriously revamped their flagship model for 2016, bringing it tantalisingly close to the dream machine used by messrs Rea and Sykes.
It may look very similar to the outgoing bike, but Kawasaki have worked on almost every single component to make this the fastest and most rider friendly ZX-10R ever made.
This month Kawasaki invited the world’s biking press to the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia to see just how good this latest bike really is, and journalists appear to have come away more than impressed!
Having done more than 12,000 miles on the outgoing ZX-10R, popular online site Visordown sent Ben Cope down to Sepang to give his opinion on the many changes Kawasaki have made.
The new bike comes fitted with Bridgestone’s Battlax RS10 Racing Street tyres as standard – ideal for fast road and occasional track day riding.
However, for the launch they were switched for the more track focused Battlax R10 Racing treaded tyre and then the MotoGP derived Battlax V02 Racing Slick for ultimate performance.
