The first sizes of the new StreetRunner range from Avon arrived at Cambrian Tyres in the final months of 2015, but it’s launch has now officially been announced by Avon.
The StreetRunner range is aimed at the growing market of 125cc learner and commuter bikes.
Although these machines are much less powerful than those available to riders with an A2 or full licence, Avon believe that 125cc riders still want a tyre which delivers excellent outright grip, good mileage, light handling and rock solid stability.
The StreetRunner range includes a number of OEM size options for the most popular Japanese machines including the CBF125 and CBR125 from Honda, along with Yamaha’s YBR125 and YZF125.
Avon claim that the new tyre uses a grippy compound which has been optimised for use in the wet and in urban areas. The tread pattern shifts water effectively from around the contact patch, and helps the tyre to warm up faster.
