Keeping Your 125 On The Road This Winter

Whilst many riders take their bikes off the road at this time of year, or switch to a winter hack, many of those new to motorcycling want to keep riding their 125 all-year round. When preparing to ride on through your first winter as a biker, it’s important to fit a tyre that inspires you with confidence in cold, and often wet conditions.

Responding to a recent question in MCN’s “Ask The Experts” feature, our very own Bryn Phillips gave his advice on the best available rubber to keep you shiny side up this winter, the bike in question being the hugely popular YZF-R125.

ContiTwist SMMichelin Pilot Street
At Cambrian Tyres we stock comprehensive ranges from all the major manufacturers operating in the UK, and we see that this sector of the market is very price sensitive. Both Continental and Michelin produce tyres which are designed especially for the 50 – 300cc market, the ContiTwist SM, pictured left, and Pilot Street, pictured right, respectively. The likes of the Battlax BT45 from Bridgestone, or Sport Demon from Pirelli are both just as good in the wet, cold conditions of winter, but in this price sensitive sector the Continental and Michelin are the current big sellers.

Golden Tyre GT260

Also available are the Korean produced GT260 from Golden Tyre, a name well known in the motocross scene. The Golden Tyre factory also produces a number of tyres for one of the big-name manufacturers. They are road legal race wet replicas, and are available exclusively from Cambrian Tyres, so ask your local two wheel specialist to give us a call for further information.

If you want to keep on riding this winter, then there are plenty of confidence inspiring options available to you!
