Dunlop launched their new Trailmax Mission in the USA late last year, and after months of waiting they’ve finally arrived in Europe too!
Our first stocks arrived just a few weeks ago, and the six key sizes currently available cover a wide range of popular modern adventure machines.
The Trailmax Mission marks Dunlop’s entry into the increasingly competitive on/off-road segment of the adventure market, and the tyre maker markets them as a 50/50 option for riders who like the dirt just as much as the tarmac.
The rugged looking tread pattern offers good all-weather grip on the roads, and delivers traction where it’s needed on the trails thanks to the additional biting edges.
At the edge of the tyre, the wrap around lugs offer protection from foreign objects such as sharp rocks, and also help to bolster off-road grip.
Dunlop’s unique Staggered Step design aims to provide rigidity in the contact patch area for enhanced stability and handling.
One barrier to the success of the Dunlop may be price; of all the most off-road capable tyres we now carry in our warehouse, the new Trailmax Mission is definitely the most expensive.
However, if the performance is as good as some of the initial reviews from across the pond suggest, no doubt there will be riders in the UK looking to try them.
