Christofer Ratcliffe spent ten years as the Chief Design Engineer at CCM Motorcycles before setting off on his own and forming Langen Motorcycles, and now we’re just days away from the first public appearance on his extremely limited edition two-stroke.
Langen are set to debut their retro styled Vee cafe racer from 23rd – 26th September at the prestigious Salon Privé event at Blenheim Palace near Oxford.
Built in Wigan, it weighs in at just 112kg and has a claimed 75bhp at the back wheel, with a top speed of 140mph.
The 249.5cc V-Twin engine has been developed by a team of former Ferrari engineers based in Italy, there’s a carbon fibre tank, and even the geometry can be customised to the individual rider.
Anyone lucky enough to see this bike in the flesh at Blenheim will also no doubt spot the classic looking tyres on this modern retro machine.
Despite their appearance, these tyres are a brand new for 2020 product from Dunlop – the TT100 GP Radial.
Based on their popular TT100 GP cross-ply classic tyre, they combine a period tread pattern with modern tyre technology to create a tyre which looks the part on the latest machine, while allowing riders to push them to their full potential too.
Technologies include Dunlop’s proven JointLess Belt, which eliminates belt overlaps in the tyre carcass to create a more consistent contact patch size.
The latest high silica compound also works very well from cold, and in combination with the enhanced tread design it also boosts wet weather grip.
A range of sizes are available for bikes such as the Z900RS from Kawasaki, and the R nineT BMW.
