It’s that time of year again when manufacturers start to pull the covers off what’s new for 2020!
The attention of the motorcycle industry is currently focused on EICMA in Milan, and that’s where German brand Metzeler has decided to unveil four brand new tyre options for next year!
First up we have the new Sporttec M9RR, which takes everything that the much lauded M7RR has achieved to date and moves it on a step further!
Designed for riders of supersport and naked machines, it is said to combine day-to-day versatility with Metzeler’s road racing experience.
Even suitable for use in wet weather conditions, the new Sportec M9RR is ideal for use on both road and track days, with three front and nine rear sizes planned.
Secondly, Metzeler have decided to introduce the new Roadtec 01 SE!
It takes the solid characteristics of the award winning Roadtec 01, and enhances the sportier characteristics to make it more suitable for supersport and naked bike riders.
An evolved tread design offers slicker shoulders, and optimises traction when driving out of the corners.
All front tyres use a full silica compound for excellent wet weather performance, while the rear is bi-compound with a softer shoulder area for improved cornering grip.
The Racetec TD Slick has been designed for riders who want all the benefits of a slick tyre, without all the set up work!
A plug-and-play product, it is said to be ideal for club riders and track dayers who want to focus on their laps times, on a tyre which offers a great balance of performance and durability.
Last but not least, the award winning performance of the Roadtec 01 sport touring tyre will also be available from next year in sizes for scooters!
A full range of 51 sizes are planned, and they will eventually replace Metzeler’s other scooter products including the Feelfree and ME 7 Teen.
A high percentage of silica in the compound, combined with the proven tread pattern, will see the Roadtec Scooter offer excellent all-weather performance.
