In the most recent issue of Bike Magazine, the team have been testing the latest Harley-Davidson Sport Glide, which comes fitted with Michelin’s Scorcher 31 tyres as standard.
The French tyre maker has been supplying co-branded original equipment rubber to Harley-Davidson for a number of years now, with a range of models leaving the factory on various options from the Michelin Scorcher range.
Traditionally these tyres were only available through Harley-Davidson themselves. However, that has changed within the last couple of years, with the full Scorcher range now available to the UK bike trade from Cambrian Tyres.

Developed in conjunction with the American motorcycle marque, you’d expect them to suit the Sport Glide well.
Here’s what Bike Magazine had to say about the Scorcher 31:
“OE Michelin Scorcher 31s were made especially for the Sport Glide (they’ve got Harley-Davidson written on the sidewalls) and grip flawlessly until the pegs go down, which is disappointingly early, given the confidence the tyres and chassis inspire.
Wet grip is just as good.
After 3500 miles there’s no sign of squaring off at either end.”
