Todd Named TT ‘Star Of Tomorrow’

Davey Todd TT 2018

After a blisteringly quick debut at this year’s Isle of Man TT, supermoto ace Davey Todd has been named the winner of the ‘Star of Tomorrow’ award by organisers.

Todd, who is in his early 20s, put in an impressive 17:38:025s lap to make him the second fastest Mountain Course newcomer in history behind Peter Hickman of Smith’s BMW. The lap time put him 9th overall in the Superbike race results.

The 37.73 mile Mountain Course is one of the very toughest tests for a tyre, with regular changes in temperature, the type of asphalt, and all the lumps, bumps and road furniture you’d find on any public highway.

Michelin Power Cup EVO

Coming from a supermoto background, Todd is already familiar with some of Michelin’s race products, and at TT 2018 he used their Power Cup Evo treaded race tyre for the Supersport and Superstock classes, and Michelin Slicks in the Superbike class, riding for the veteran Cookstown BE team.

The Michelin race range is available to the UK bike trade from Cambrian Tyres.
