Action Packed Bridgestone British Masters At Preston Docks

Bridgestone British Masters Preston Docks

Last weekend saw the third round of the Bridgestone sponsored British Masters head to Preston Docks, with plenty of high-octane motocross action on show across all classes.

After high highly successful MXGP debut at Matterley Basin, Honda Adventure Centre’s Josh Gilbert was chomping at the bit in the Pro MX2 class. Despite having clutch issues in the opening moto, Josh managed to hold on for 2nd place, before going to take the win in the next race to take the overall victory.

In the amateur MX2, it was Bridgestone vs Bridgestone at the sharp end of the pack with Rob Yates, Charlie Putnam and Josh Gilbert’s teammate Callum Green taking the three top positions in each of the three races. Yates would come away with the overall victory in that dog fight.

In the MXY2 Youth class, SRH Racing’s Rory Jones held onto the coveted red plate thanks to his Battlecross tyres, despite strong challenges from the likes of Sam Ongley, Aaron Patstone and wildcard George Simmutch.

The next round sees the championship head to Hawkstone Park, where bad weather saw the season opener cancelled by organisers earlier this year.
