Dunlop’s latest sport touring tyre, the RoadSmart III, has been selected by the Ron Haslam Race School for fitment to their fleet of Honda training and instructor machines from 2017.
The RoadSmart III features a number of technologies which Dunlop say were crucial to the Race School’s decision when choosing a new tyre partner:
- Enhanced Groove Angles within the tread design have been calculated to optimise tread stiffness, ensuring more uniform wear characteristics leading to more consistent performance throughout the life of the tyre. Tyre life is essential when the bikes are used day after day for intensive track sessions.
- Interconnecting Groove Tread (iGT) technology provides optimal evacuation of water on wet roads, even when the tyre is worn. This design disperses more water than it’s RoadSmart II predecessor, particularly at higher speeds that may be experienced during track sessions at the race school.
- The new Rayon Ply Casing and refined front profile also offer more precise steering as well as reducing the effort required to steer the bike, reducing rider fatigue. In addition, the casing design reduces warm up time which is ideal for early morning session in the Spring.
