Metzeler have recently announced the release of a new ‘O’ specification version of their hugely successful Roadtec Z8 Interact.
The tyre will be available in 190/55 ZR17 and is dedicated to large touring bikes.
The new 2 ply rear version is dual compound, featuring a high silica content in the centre of the tread as well as 100% silica on the shoulders. It also has a new profile specifically developed to perform on heavy sport-touring bikes such as:
- BMW K 1600 GT
- Triumph Trophy
- Honda VFR1200F.
The tyre boasts excellent performance in the wet, and when compared with the ‘C’ spec version already on the market it offers 30% more mileage.
The silica compound used in the centre of the tread has been specially developed to offer better mileage performance and excellent straight line stability at high speeds. To 100% silica shoulder compound offers significantly increased grip on wet surfaces, and excellent grip when cornering too.
The newly developed tyre compounds used in the construction of this tyre provide excellent chemical grip and a minimal warm up period so that they tyre performs straight away in a wide range of temperatures.
It also features Metzeler’s Interact technology and a variable tension zero degree steel belt which give the tyre it’s progressive handling characteristics at all lean angles.
