New from Michelin for 2017, we will be seeing the introduction of the new Power RS – which the manufacturer says is their latest ‘sport road’ tyre.
The first road tyre to benefit from their return to the top flight of motorcycle racing, the Power RS is said to set new benchmarks in terms of performance for hypersport tyres, according to internal tests conducted by Michelin against it’s main competitors.
With race derived rubber compounds and a new casing structure, the tyre offers maximum outright grip on dry roads. The rear tyre is based around a patented construction which uses Michelin ACT+ technology for impeccable straight-line stability and corner stability.
With the first sizes due to arrive in January 2017, the range will offer fitments for 300cc bikes right up to large capacity Supersport bikes and sit above the current Pilot Power 3 in the pecking order.
The sizes announced by Michelin are as follows:
- 110/70 ZR17 M/C 54W TL – Front
- 110/70 R17 M/C 54H TL – Front
- 120/60 ZR17 M/C (55W) TL – Front
- 120/70 ZR17 M/C (58W) TL – Front
- 140/70 R17 M/C 66H TL – Rear
- 150/60 ZR17 M/C (66W) TL – Rear
- 160/60 ZR17 M/C (69W) TL – Rear
- 180/55 ZR17 M/C (73W) TL – Rear
- 180/60 ZR17 M/C (75W) TL – Rear
- 190/50 ZR17 M/C (73W) TL – Rear
- 190/55 ZR17 M/C (75W) TL – Rear
- 200/55 ZR17 M/C (78W) TL – Rear
- 240/45 ZR17 M/C (82W) TL – Rear
