Recently announced at Intermot in Cologne, the new Battlecruise H50 from Bridgestone is aimed squarely at the owners of American V-Twin motorcycles from the likes of Harley-Davidson and Indian.
Owners of American V-Twin bikes are in love with their machines – when everything just works, the ride and the feeling it brings is like nothing else. That’s why the new Battlecruise H50 has been designed with one single objective – giving you absolute pleasure from the moment you sit in the saddle.
So what’s gone into this new Bridgestone tyre?
With the Battlecruise H50 promising to give you smooth easy handling, great grip on wet and dry, and a long tread life, Bridgestone have used the latest design system taken from their race division.
The proprietary U-EYE technology enables their engineers to see exactly how a tyre behaves in contact with the road in a multitude of scenarios, so that they can optimise the design accordingly.
Specifically U-EYE gives Bridgestone a very detailed picture of the contact patch, where rubber meets road, and the resulting pressure distribution at various speeds, loads and slip angles on wet and dry. The Battlecruise H50 is only the second motorcycle tyre to benefit from U-EYE after the Battlax S21 released earlier this year.
With the new H50 on the front, your heavy V-Twin needs only a light touch to glide through the corners. Thanks to U-EYE, the Battlecruise H50 puts a larger contact patch on the tarmac and creates more uniform contact-pressure distribution, for easier handling and more precise cornering. Bridgestone track testing shows that the force acting on the handlebar when riding on the Battlecruise H50 is much lower than that of it’s main competitor tyres.
V-Twin riders can also lay down the miles with the H50. Bridgestone’s goal was to give you a tyre with a much longer wear life than other big-name brands. To achieve this high mileage Bridgestone enlarged the crown profile of the rear tyre and developed a new tread compound. The vertical stiffness of the front tyre has also been optimised to deliver a smooth easy ride thanks to its vibration damping and shock absorption properties.
