Already available in two of the initial four sizes in the UK, the Michelin Anakee Wild range is to be increased to a total of seven different sizes by the end of the 3rd quarter of 2016.
Marketed as a 50/50 adventure tyre, the Anakee Wild allows riders to exploit all the key facets of their big ADV machines, giving them the option to venture well off the beaten track.
The first four sizes in the range are all radials, but are to be joined by the following three sizes later in the year:
- 130/80-17 M/C 65R TL – Due September
- 140/80-17 M/C 69R TL – Due September
- 90/90-21 54R TL – Due July
The Anakee Wild range has been designed to deliver good mileage returns, excellent stability on the road, and high levels of grip on wet roads. The tyre’s design is based on that of Michelin’s famous Desert Race, as used in the Dakar Rally.
They have been developed in conjunction with T3 Aventure, a business who specialise in extreme motorcycle journeys around the globe. The riders from T3 Aventure have put over 40,000 kilometres on several sets of test tyres, with temperatures ranging from -5°C to 45°C, visiting destinations as far flung as Ulaanbaatar and Windhoek.
We have already taken delivery of 120/70 R19 60R TL fronts and 170/60 R17 72R TL rears from Michelin, with two further radial sizes due in very soon once they land in the UK.
