With 15 different classes, and rounds at some of the UK’s best circuits, Thundersport GB is one of the most popular race series in the country, and boasts some big names as former alumni including Cal Crutchlow, Bradley Smith and the Lowes brothers, all of whom raced in the Aprilia Superteen Challenge.
Thundersport GB is aimed at those who fall between traditional club racing and British Superbikes, and is often referred to as ‘Sportsman Racing’.
Next year French manufacturer Michelin, who have recently revived much of their fast road and track tyre range, will be sponsoring the series as they look to turn more riders onto their most racy rubber.

With the company entering MotoGP as sole supplier next year, it is the ideal time for Michelin to try to develop the race side of their business, as developments for the world’s premier race series are bound to trickle down to tyres for everyday riders in one form or another, as they do with other manufacturers operating at such a high level in motorsport.
