Metzeler Sportec M7RR Reviewed

Metzeler Sportec M7 RR reviewThe latest Metzeler hypersport tyre is the Sportec M7 RR, which promises fast warm-up times, high levels of grip and feedback, as well as accurate handling on the road.

In the October 2015 edition of Performance Bikes magazine, editor Matt Wildee reviews the Sportec M7 RR after several thousand miles of testing on his Yamaha YZF-R1:

“These have been on my R1 for the last 3000 miles during which they’ve done everything I could have asked of a tyre.

They are nimble and sweet-steering – rolling over better than the Dunlop GP Racer track tyres that replaced them – and deliver a huge amount of grip for something that is really only a sporty road tyre.

The front has great feel, while the rear has so much traction that in 3000 miles of pretty hard road riding I haven’t had a single slide. They work very well from cold and perform brilliantly in the wet, too.

Best of all is the mileage. The front looks untouched, while the rear has worn evenly. last year I managed 5000 miles from a rear M7RR on my S1000R. Unless you’re lapping at the front of a very fast trackday, these tyres are all you need.”

The Sportec M7 RR is available to the UK trade from Cambrian Tyres as the UK’s largest stockist of Metzeler motorcycle tyres.
