The world’s fastest growing motorcycle manufacturer KTM has awarded Dunlop A+ supplier status, following their perfect supply of motorcycle tyres in 2016.
Last year KTM sold more than 203,000 motorcycles under their own brand and Husqvarna subsidiary – a 6th record year of sales in a row.
Many KTM models are fitted with Dunlop tyres on the production line including the XC, XC F, XC W and XCF W. The SX and SX F models also are factory fitted with Dunlop. Sister brand Husqvarna also choose Dunlop for their TE, FE, TC and FC ranges.
“I am very proud of this award,” said Xavier Fraipont, Dunlop’s Managing Director for Motorsport and Motorcycle EMEA. “It confirms the outstanding quality of our Dunlop tyres and our high service level. At the same time, it demonstrates our ability as a team to work together and deliver best quality products and services to our customers.”
Many KTM models come fitted with Dunlop’s proven Geomax range of motocross tyres, including the World Championship race winning MX-3S. The Geomax MX-3S is a proven MXGP race winner, offering riders of all levels outstanding grip in a wide variety of terrain thanks to its block-within-a-block tread knobs. This, coupled with superior bump absorption through a damping control sidewall compound helps the innovative MX-3S act as a suspension component so the tyre can better follow the track surface.
KTM have also selected the new Geomax AT81 for the latest 350 XCF-W (pictured above). The AT81 is a multi-terrain motocross tyre ideal for training and practice. DIRTuitive Grip Design provides more consistent levels of grip across changing terrain types, and a more durable rear compound has been used to improve resistance to tearing.
