It’s that time of year again when Bike Magazine release their big Road Test Annual, with several Bridgestone tyres featured in this year’s issue.
- Battlax RS10
The RS10 is Bridgestone’s most aggressive road tyre, ideal for fast road and occasional track day use without the need for warmers.
Bike have been sampling them on the formidable Kawasaki ZX-10R and had this to say:
“The Kawasaki is supplied with trackday-ready Bridgestone Battlax RS10s. And, predictably, they’re very good on a circuit, with lots of feel and grip. Despite very little tread they’re also confidence-inspiring on the road, and don’t feel lethal in the wet. They’re still in reasonable shape after 3000 miles, however the wear indicators have almost been reached on the abused rear.”

- Battlax S20
The Battlax S20 comes as original equipment on both the MT-10 and Z1000SX, both of which have been tested by Bike this year.
On the MT-10 Bike said:
“It’s a sporty tyre with manners, plenty of feel and enough grip to wear away the footpegs on a trackday. It’s soft though, and the MT’s instant wallop and blunt gearing can chomp through rears.”
And on the Kawasaki tourer:
“Standard fitment is the Bridgestone S20, playing to the Zed’s sporty side. They feel soft and grippy, suck down to the road and would be mega on a trackday, but the rear wears out quick.”

- Battlax BT-023
Bridgestone’s BT-023 is one of two OE fitments on the popular Yamaha MT-07.
The team at Bike had this to say:
“MTs have Michelin Pilot Road 3 or Bridgestone BT-023, both of which seem to suit the Yamaha and work whether slogging in the rain or dragging the footpegs. There’s no point going for anything sportier, unless you’re intent on winding-up GSX-Rs on a trackday.”
The Battlax BT-023 is probably the most popular 2nd line sport touring tyre on the market this season and offers amazing value. However, if you’re set on having the latest rubber, check out the Battlax T30 EVO.
- Battlax T30 EVO
Bike fitted Bridgestone’s current top line sport touring tyre to their SV650 long-termer as an aftermarket replacement for the worn out OE Dunlops.
After putting on some miles, Bike commented:
“The Dunlops are ok in the dry, but give no feel or confidence in the wet. We’ve fitted Bridgestone T30 which warm quickly, grip in all conditions and have a ‘softer’ feel that has also improved ride quality. Recommended.”
