The Classic TT and Manx Grand Prix has come to an end for another year, and what a year it’s been!
With a long history at the event, British manufacturer Avon Tyres have been working hard to support riders across a number of classes in both events, with much success.
As well as some of the biggest names in road racing jumping on Avon shod machines for the Classic TT, sponsored rider Rob Hodson also took the firms first ever Manx GP victory on the TT course using their 3D Ultra Xtreme treaded race tyres.
The 28 year old from Wigan put in a commanding performance on his retro colour bike to break both lap and race records in the SuperTwin race at the Manx, finishing a minute in front of his nearest rival.
Following the race an elated Hodson said “it feels amazing to win. The conditions were near perfect out there and I’m made up for everyone involved.”
The 3D Ultra Xtremes, which are available to the UK trade from Cambrian Tyres, feature a super-sticky dry weather compound and 3D sipe technology to give riders optimum stability and fast warm-up times, as well as a large compound at high angles of lean.
