In response to requests from fans around the world, tyre manufacturer Dunlop will be making changes to their colour coding system for tyres used in the Moto2 class this season.
Unfortunately for the majority of motorsport fans, tyre selection choices can often be confusing – both on two and four wheels.
Even the riders themselves can struggle from time-to-time, with sole supplier Dunlop often working alongside teams right up to the final minutes before the race is due to start.
Starting in Qatar next month, Dunlop have announced that only the softest tyre option available on any given race weekend will be colour coded.
The bright yellow sidewall will allow viewers in the grandstand and at home to instantly pick out the riders who have opted for the softest tyre option.
Ahead of each round, Dunlop examine past race data to carefully select a range of tyres best suited to coping with the demands of each track, while offering maximum durability over the whole race distance.
Tune in next month to see the new system in action!
