As part of Dunlop’s commitment to the ‘Road to MotoGP’ they have announced that they will be the Official Tyre Partner to the new Honda Talent Challenge.
This new Central European championship, which serves a similar purpose as the British Talent Cup, will see many talented young riders go head-to-head on the Honda NSF250R.
The first ten riders to sign up to the series will also receive a complimentary set of Dunlop race tyres, which should serve as an additional incentive alongside the generous prize fund already being offered by Honda.
With an aim of finding top-level riders who can win at World Championship level, the Honda Talent Challenge features races in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Germany and the Netherlands, which will host a showcase race at the iconic Assen MotoGP track.
For Dunlop, the series will also serve as a springboard to launch their new ‘pre-Moto3′ race tyre, which will also be used in the Italian and Spanish junior championships this year. The manufacturer says it will offer performance close to that of a world championship level tyre, combined with the durability and cost-effectiveness that is appropriate for a premium national level series.
Wim Van Achter, Dunlop Motorsport Manager said:
“Dunlop, through our support of the ‘Road to MotoGP’ Talent Cups has been a long time supporter of developing young riders. In this region, Dunlop tyres have been chosen by multiple race winners in the highly competitive Alpe Adria Championship. Therefore, it’s natural that we extend our talent development mindset to encompass these countries too.”
