Continental are expanding their sport touring family!
With the same high-performance design and composition as the acclaimed ContiRoadAttack 2 EVO, the new GT version for heavier touring motorcycles is due to arrive in the UK shortly in the following sizes:
- 120/70 ZR17 M/C (58W) TL
- 180/55 ZR17 M/C (73W) TL
Designed with the specific demands of heavyweight tourers in mind, this German manufactured tyre has had an additional ply added to the rear, and the front tyre construction has also been revised to cope with higher loads.
In 2014, the ContiRoadAttack 2 EVO was awarded a best buy from the industry leading Motorrad Magazine who rated it ‘Best on Country Roads’ after testing a number of the latest tyres from leading manufacturers.
The whole range benefits from the use of the German company’s unique Traction Skin technology, which minimises the need for scrubbing in by providing a micro-rough surface on the tyre straight from the mould, enhancing rider safety from the moment it is fitted. A striking yet sophisticated tread design, combined with their unique Rain Grip compound, provides excellent wet weather handling and reliable grip. MultiGrip creates a multi-compound style tyre from a single piece of rubber by carefully controlling curing temperatures in different parts of the tyre mould during the manufacturing process. It also helps to eliminate the feeling of step, often found on a standard multi-compound tyre, as the rider transitions from one compound to another leaning in and out of corners.
Due to the revised construction of the new GT tyre, it can not be combined with the following predecessors:
- ContiRoadAttack 2 C
- ContiRoadAttack 2 GT
- ContiRoadAttack 2 EVO – standard tyre
The new GT spec tyre is aimed at a number of bikes including the following machines:
- BMW R nineT
- BMW R1200R / Classic (K27 11)
- BMW R1200RT/ST/S
- Suzuki GSX 1250 FA
- Yamaha FJR1300 A/AE/AS
