Michelin sponsored World SuperEnduro Champion Emma Bristow made a winning start to her 2015 title defence, taking two wins from two during an exciting night of racing in Germany.
Following the win, Emma exclaimed:
“I am so happy to make such a victorious start to my 2015 racing season. I have been training hard and we approached these races well prepared and after practice we had the Sherco set up just how I wanted it”.
“This was reflected in the qualifying when I set pole the position which was some six seconds in front of my nearest rival. The smooth power delivery from the Sherco motor allows you to push your-self as you can concentrate on your lines around the tough track”.
“In the first race I did not make the hole shot and got caught up with the back markers but once I got into my rhythm I soon reeled in the leaders and moved to the front where I remained lapping all but one rider”.
“The second race started the same and I was pushing hard to close the gap to the front and then the final lap I caught the leaders who were battling one another. I found a small gap and took the opportunity with half a lap to go then held on to take the chequered flag”.
“Standing on the top spot of the podium was a good feeling and a superb start to the season. Many people have supported me and it’s at times like this it makes you appreciate their input. I would like to thank them all for their continued support as we now focus on round two of the series which will resume on the 1st February in Finland”.
After taking maximum points in Round One, Bristow has a 6 point lead at the top of the standings, over Sandra Gomez of Spain in 2nd position.
