As we roll into November, manufacturers are getting ready for the annual EICMA show in Milan where we’ll get a first glimpse of a plethora of new products.
Bridgestone, the world’s largest tyre maker, has plenty to shout about this year, with five brand new tyres on display.
- Battlax Racing R11
Bridgestone’s new treaded race tyre was unveiled to the world last month at Monteblanco, and is set to stir up the market when it hits these shores next year. It uses the same GP Belt technology already found on the rear V02 Slick, and the front boasts an all-new Variable Mono-Spiral Belt construction for maximum corner grip to help riders slash their lap times on the track.
- Battlax T31
The successor to the hugely popular T30 EVO, this tyres has some big shoes to fill. Bridgestone have boosted stability and handling performance, while also developing a new front-tyre compound which greatly improves feel in the wet to boost rider confidence. Bridgestone say the new T31 takes “the fun factor on sport touring bikes to a new level”.
- Battlax Adventure A41
Upgraded performance, without sacrificing the impressive mileage of the original A40. Both front and rear tyres use triple-layer compound technology, with a cap and base construction that improves stability when cornering. On a wet handling track, the A41 posted lap times that were 8% faster than it’s A40 predecessor, demonstrating the big leap forward in wet weather performance.
- Battlax SC2
Designed to offer fantastic performance in the urban jungle, Bridgestone’s new scooter tyre uses technology taken from the Battlax S21 hypersport tyre. The new tread pattern offers optimum rigidity and grip. A triple-layer compound on the rear tyre offers high levels of grip on the shoulder, and a more durable centre for improved mileage.
- Battlax SC2 Rain
Using wet-weather technology taken from the new T31 sport touring tyre, Bridgestone’s new Battlax SC2 Rain is aimed at riders of maxi scooters who want a safer, more confident ride in changeable weather conditions. A high-void ratio in the tread pattern is tuned to balance straight-line stability with a sharpened handling response. A new compound further boosts performance for “an exceptional grip feel on cold and wet surfaces.”
