Explore Wales With Bridgestone

RiDE Magazine Bridgestone A41 review

Where better in the UK to test the very latest crop of big adventure bikes than Snowdonia?

That’s exactly where RiDE Magazine headed earlier this year, in order to try and find the pick of the bunch from:

  • BMW R1200GS TE Exclusive
  • Ducati Multistrada 1260 S
  • KTM 1290 Super Adventure S
  • Triumph Tiger 1200 XRT

With 170 miles of riding to do, on some of the best roads that North Wales has to offer, it was important that the team chose a tyre that would allow them to make the most of everything their bikes had to offer.

Their tyre of choice for this fantastic test?

The brand new Battlax Adventure A41 from Bridgestone, which has just been selected by BMW as an OE fitment for their latest range of GS motorcycles.

In their June issue, RiDE said:

“To give them a proper road test, we fitted A41s across all the test bikes, with sizes ranging from the Multistrada’s 120/70-17 front and 190/55-17 rear to the others’ 120/70-19 fronts and 170/60-17 rears.

The result is impressive. In torrential rain and on cold roads the Bridgestones are steady and reassuring, but when conditions become mixed, they come into their own, delivering instant confidence. All the riders were impressed and Nick drew immediate comparisons with the Michelin Anakee 3s on his GSA saying the A41′s feel more inspiring from cold.

However, like most dual-sport tyres, the A41s tend to be better suited to sealed surfaces than loose.”

We’re not going to spoil the result of the test, but you can read it in full in the June issue of RiDE.

As for the Battlax Adventure A41, you can already order them from your local motorcycle tyre dealer…
