Premier Results For DSC Cornwall Kawasaki

Cornwall’s Landrake Motocross Park provided the setting for another weekend of great results for the Bridgestone shod DSC Cornwall Kawasaki team at the weekend in the second round of the Premier Motocross Championship.

With both junior riders putting in some great lap times on their KX250F machines, confidence was high going into the opening moto with Jake Curtis-Stevens on pole. Confidently grabbing the holeshot, Jake pulled out an ever increasing lead over the rest of the field to take an impressive win. Sadly for teammate Jake Parker, an incident saw him hit the ground hard, turning a promising start into a 23rd placed finish.

The second Junior race was much better however, with both riders comfortably inside the top ten in the early stages. Curtis-Stevens once again pushed his way to the front, ably assisted by Parker who worked his way into 2nd place to give the team a well deserved 1-2 on the podium. The pair diced for the lead once again in the third and final race, with Curtis-Stevens once again just edging out his teammate to take the win as DSC celebrated another 1-2 result.

In the Expert class Tommy Alba and Luke Sturgeon on the KX450F bikes were both looking to improve on their first round performances by getting on the podium at Landrake. Despite a late fall in the opening moto, Tommy picked himself back up to cross the line in 5th place, but things improved in the next race as he fought hard to take 2nd place after a poor start. The rain began to fall ahead of the final race, but another solid ride from Tommy secured 4th place as conditions worsened, consolidating 2nd place overall at the event.

Unfortunately for Luke his results didn’t reflect his performance as he suffered from a string of bad luck once again, with three top 20 finishes.
