With around 30,000 motorcycle fans on the Isle of Man at the weekend, the scene was set for an epic first Superbike race of the 2015 TT.
As the official tyre partner to the event, Dunlop are working closely with a number of riders at the very top of their game, including John McGuinness, Michael Dunlop and the flying Kiwi Bruce Anstey.
The opening race of the 2015 TT saw Anstey claim his 10th win at the TT, riding for Padgetts Motorcycles of West Yorkshire. The final lap saw Anstey out in front, with Michael Dunlop working hard to close the gap on him and 2nd placed Ian Hutchinson. Looking like he was on for a new lap record, he was then involved in an incident with a slower rider at The Nook, with the race then red flagged.
This meant only 6 riders crossed the line to take the chequered flag, with Anstey in 1st and fellow Dunlop rider McGuinness in 4th.
Dunlop riders will be shod with KR106 and KR108 slick tyres in the Senior and Superbike TT races while in the Superstock, Supersport and Lightweight classes, riders will be shod with the treaded D212 GP Pro tyres, developed using Dunlop’s experience of the iconic Mountain Course.

This year Dunlop has a really strong line-up of proven riders and we’re confident of another successful week of racing. Last year riders (and a driver) shod with Dunlop tyres smashed five lap records during race week as well as claimed five out of a possible six wins, and this year looks set to be no different.”
