Yorkshireman Ian Hutchinson, known to many TT fans as the ‘Bingley Bullet’ has taken his 2nd victory of the 2015 Isle of Man TT with a dominant performance in the Superstock race on Tuesday.
Hutchinson, who also took victory in Monday’s Supersport race, was on record pace on the PBM Kawasaki yesterday, knocking 32 seconds off the class race record, with the next three riders also under the previous time.
At the midway fuel stop, the PBM team decided to change his rear wheel, so that he had a fresh Metzeler Racetec RR tyre to try and push home his advantage. From this point, he picked up his speed to take the win by a total of 17 seconds from Michael Dunlop in 2nd place.
Hutchy’s incredible race time smashed the Superstock race record from 1:10.37.404 to 1:10.05.298 with an average speed of 129.197mph including the pitstop.
With the Supersport and Senior races still to come, both Hutchy and Metzeler will have their eyes on further victories.
