This bank holiday weekend will see the return of the Aberystwyth Cycle Festival for 2014 sponsored by Cambrian Tyres and Continental Bicycle Tyres UK and we will be seeing some of the top cycle racers from around Britain flock to this small coastal town to compete in the next round of the Pearl Izumi Tour Series, as televised on the ITV network.
There will be plenty going on over the weekend for everyone from cyclists to bikers with events kicking off at 2pm on Friday and carrying on well into the evening, with riders of all abilities getting involved in the various fun and competitve races around the tight knit streets of Aberystwyth. Riders will then be back out at 9am on the Saturday morning as they warm up for the downhill race on Constitution Hill, as the steep and winding footpath is turned into a fast and furious challenge for top MTB riders for the day. Sunday then sees riders of all abilities get involved in the three sportive events which take riders anywhere from 40 kilometres to over 100 kilometres out into the heart the countryside for fun and a little bit of competition too! Two of our motorcycle staff will be providing mobile support for the cyclists involved on the day.
The Continental Motorcycle UK show bikes will also be out on the promenade, a very popular spot with bikers who head down to enjoy the coast for the day as well as the fantastic roads that Mid Wales has to offer. Members of the team will be on hand to talk bikes and tyres, and you can also see our fantastic range of Continental branded bikes including the new for 2014 S1000RR and BMW Mad Max as customised by Wunderlich in Germany.

Our UK Continental Motorcycle Brand Manager Graham Matcham is also rumoured to be repeating his 2013 performance by entering the downhill mountain bike race again this year, and you don’t want to miss that!
As an official sponsor of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil the Continental Road To Rio roadshow will also be in Aberystwyth for the weekend which a great opportunity for football fans to have some fun as we approach the start of the tournament.
On Friday you can find our motorcycle and bicycle departments on the promenade between the Royal Pier and bandstand, and on Saturday they will be located on Victoria Terrace at the northern end of the promenade just below Constitution Hill by the downhill finish line.
