British tyre manufacturer Avon Tyres have announced that they are to supply the original equipment tyre for the new Triumph Thunderbird LT when it rolls off the production line in 2014.
The all new Triumph, which will feature a powerful 1597 cc parallel twin engine which delivers a maximum power of 86PS at 4850 rpm and 146NM of torque at 2750 rpm.
This classic looking bike, available in Caspian Blue or Lava Red, is offset by the Avon Cobra White Wall tyre, which Avon’s Doug Ross says is “the first production radial white wall tyre”.
The tyre is described as delivering both performance and style for cruisers, tourers and custom motorcycles and features:
- Sports tyre technology for nimble handling
- Special construction to deal with heavy loads
- Incredible stability and longevity – perfect for touring
- Extra wide sizes for custom bikes
- Ultra-quiet ride
The bike was unveiled at last week’s EICMA show in Milan and will be available early next year.
