The dominant force in women’s motocross, Kiara Fontanesi left it to her home round of Imola to secure a sixth WMX World Title, and her fifth on Dunlop Geomax tyres.
After going 2-1 at Imola, Fontanesi was crowned the overall Grand Prix winner at the final event of the season, securing her latest title in a nail biting finale.
In the FIM Motocross World Championship, Dunlop recorded five finishers in the top-ten in Italy, with Clement Desalle’s podium confirming his third place in the championship. Julien Lieber (Kawasaki) took fourth in the MXGP of Italy, with Shaun Simpson (Yamaha), Jeremy Seewer (Yamaha) and Evgeny Bobryshev (Suzuki) finishing seventh, eighth and tenth respectively for the tyre maker.

All of Dunlop’s riders chose the new Geomax MX33 for the hard-pack track in Italy.
Eddy Seel, Dunlop Event Leader commented:
“Congratulations Kiara! A sixth title is an amazing achievement. We had some great rides here this weekend, starting with Kiara’s fantastic two races for the title. Clement had another good weekend with his ninth podium of the year and third place overall – the first non-KTM finisher. Many thanks to Clement and Kawasaki.”
