After shifting their focus from the Isle of Man TT Zero to the world of endurance racing, Belgian electric motorcycle marque Saroléa have announced a brand new partnership with tyre manufacturer Dunlop.
Dunlop will act as Technical Partner for the Saroléa SP7 race bike, which will be demonstrated ahead of the legendary Le Mans 24 Hour race this weekend.
Saroléa see this as a significant milestone in their quest to be recognised as a candidate for future Le Mans 24h and FIM Endurance World Championship rounds, going head-to-head against top petrol powered EWC bikes.
With 12 of the last 14 FIM EWC titles claimed on Dunlop tyres, the manufacturer has an illustrious history in the area of endurance racing, and has also been chosen by the winners of the TT Zero for the last four years.
Finding a tyre that suited the unique performance characteristics of the Saroléa SP7 is crucial to the success of the project.
“When we were looking for a tyre partner to support our project, it was natural that we turned to Dunlop. Dunlop is the most successful tyre manufacturer in endurance racing, and is the reigning FIM Endurance World Champion tyre manufacturer. Our motorcycle has immense torque and requires a tyre that can cope with our unique demands. In testing, the Dunlop provided the grip and durability we need for our project” stated Torsten Robbens, Chief Technical Officer of Saroléa.

Saroléa were actually established in 1850, and went on to produce their first motorcycle in 1901, with regular successes in the world of endurance racing soon to follow. Re-invented in 2008, the company now focuses on the innovation of electric motorcycles.
