Six Days Extreme Tops Enduro Tyre Test

Metzeler 6 Days Extreme review

Metzeler have another reason to celebrate this Christmas, after their flagship Six Days Extreme enduro tyre topped a leading German test.

Online magazine enduro.de pitted seven different brands against one another as part of their extreme enduro tyre test.

Tyres from brands including Maxxis, Mefo and Shinko all competed for the top prize on the magazine’s GasGas test bike, but it was the German firm’s premium tyre that took top honours. Michelin’s new Enduro was not among the tyres tested.

Front and rear tyres were scored individually on a range of aspects, including their performance on rocks, hard terrain and obstacles.

Metzeler submitted their ‘supersoft’ compound front with the standard rear, which were awarded a combined score of 63.5 out of a possible 70.

A breakdown of the scores can be found at enduro.de.

Summing up, the magazine commented:

“The tyre combination offers a very good balance between front and rear. Throughout the tyre combination gets good to very good values in each category. The rear tyre offers a very good traction over obstacles, with loose boulders, rocks and driveways. A little bit loses in the lateral support, but overall, this tyre combination is one of the TOP all-round extreme enduro tyres.”
