With the first sizes landing with us yesterday, Avon’s new Spirit ST is now available in the UK as the manufacturer host the official launch in Portugal around the Portimao area of the country.
Replacing the Storm 3D X-M at the top of their sport touring range, the new ST comes in 8 front and 11 rear sizes which can be viewed here.
Building on the features of the Storm 3D X-M, which has now dropped in price to make way for the new flagship rubber, the Spirit ST is said to offer ultra-high performance handling, more mileage and excellent levels of wet grip courtesy of a new high-silica compound and revised tread pattern more akin to a racing wet hoop.
The Melksham based firm have worked on an all-new casing construction for improved stability, and wrapped this in a compound using the latest in polymer technologies with a harder central compound for mileage and softer shoulders for great grip in the corners.
Avon’s unique 3D Sipe Technology still features in the new tyre, with small interconnecting teeth limiting tread flex under load for less squirming under load and faster warm-up.
Avon’s Motorcycle Tyre Designer Ashley Vowles commented:

We have carried out various tests on many different bike models using a number of test riders, and the results have been outstanding. We are very excited about the new Spirit ST range and are looking forward to its release.”
Nearly all sizes from the new range have now been released and are available at Cambrian Tyres, with the final few due to follow shortly.
