The Isle of Man TT 2017 will mark the fourth year of the technical partnership between Bridgestone and Belgian electric motorcycle manufacturer Saroléa.
After technical issues put pay to their TT Zero challenge in 2016, this year the Saroléa team are going all out for a podium finish as they once again team up with Yorkshire road racer Dean Harrison.
They’ll be up against the likes of Mugen and their big name riders John McGuinness and Guy Martin, but the Belgian’s are confident that they’ve got what it takes to finish inside the top three this year.
Saroléa’s SP7 race bike is fitted with off-the-shelf Battlax race tyres from Bridgestone, and the Japanese manufacturer will be available to offer technical support for the team.
“This partnership gives Bridgestone an exciting opportunity to demonstrate that we push the limit when it comes to the quality of our products. And by entering our regular off-the-shelf Battlax Racing tyres to the TT Zero, we hope to show that we can give everyday riders the best possible performance,” explains Nico Thuy, head of Motorcycle Department at Bridgestone Europe.
With the TT less than four weeks away, Dean Harrison is also excited about his chances in this year’s electric race:
“Since last year, the team have made significant improvements to the SP7 so I am excited to find out what they have done. My aim for this year is a podium and I cannot see any reason why that won’t be possible.”
