Have you ever wondered how your motorcycle tyres are made?
Well if so you’re in luck as last month, The Motorbike Show’s Henry Cole headed to Avon Tyres to find out for himself!
Based in Melksham for more than 100 years, Avon Tyres are the only remaining motorcycle tyre manufacturer based in the UK, and their skilled team produce roughly 300,000 tyres per year, which are shipped all around the globe.
In the episode shown on ITV, Henry takes a tour of the factory with Motorcycle Tyre Design Engineer Ashley Vowles, bumps into Avon’s latest Brand Ambassador Steve Plater and even gets involved in the production process as he helps to make a RoadRider MKII for the front of his own bike.
