RiDE Magazine have now covered several thousand miles on their Honda Crossrunner, shod with a pair of Storm 2 Ultra, Avon’s 2nd line sport touring tyre.
Cheaper than the newer Storm 3D X-M, you get a multi-compound rear, a zero degree belt and a high silica compound to offer good wet grip.
RiDE say:
“We’ve ridden on them through winter and been impressed by their wet grip, For this four-day, 1400-mile trip, the Storm 2s felt great. We dodged most of the rain, but the dry grip was more than up to the job. There was plenty of feedback on hard braking, and the bike felt super-stable right up to three-figures, even laden with camera gear, laptops, clean pants and dancing trousers for a Glasgow night out…”
This trip took them from the North of England, right up to Inverness, then Aberdeen, with a quick stop on the way back down at Knockhill too. To find out more about the route, pick up a copy of their August 2015 issue.
