Michelin riders were in complete control for the opening round of the 2015 British Trials Championship, with all of the top 3 finishers using the Trials X-Light Comp tyre on their way to the podium.
The opening rounds saw riders take of two very different types of terrain, with the mud and rocks of Hooks Wood on day one, and the slippery, steep chalk climbs and tree roots of Buster Lime Works on day two.
Current British Champion James Dabill, who has claimed the title five times so far, got off to a great start with the new Vertigo brand to open up an early championship lead ahead of Michael Brown and Sam Haslam of Gas Gas.
Following the event, a very please James said:
“The two events this weekend were a real test of the Michelin tyres across two very different terrains. On Saturday at Hooks Wood, the mud was carried onto the rocks affording no grip at all, but the Michelin tyres gave me the confidence to take the Vertigo into the lead on lap one and I managed to retain this lead through to the end.
Day two was about power from the machine on the steep climbs and the MICHELIN X-Light once again proved its all-round capabilities giving me constant grip at all times, which allowed me to take another victory and open up a small championship lead”.
