New Battlax V02 Slick “Incredible” Says Emma Franklin

Battlax V02 Slick reviewEmma Franklin in the Production Editor at MCN, and is a club racer with a real passion for lightweight race bikes. In their 24th September 2014 edition it was her turn to have her bike placed under the spotlight in their new ‘The Machines We Own’ feature.

Emma is lucky enough to own Lee Jackson’s British 125GP Championship Honda RS125 GP ride from his 2010 debut season, which she bought in 2012 and says is now the love of her life.

It might be a small bike, but it’s fierce too, proving you don’t need big BHP on tap to thrill out on track, lapping the 1.3 mile Mallory Park circuit at an average speed of 86mph.

Unlike Lee, Emma is free to select any tyre manufacturer she likes and says:

“I’ve just discovered these incredible new Bridgestones. The V02 is available in sizes to suit everything from 125s to superbikes, and they’re phenomenal. Incredible grip, decent life, and predictability once they go past their best. I get between 150 and 200 miles out of a set.”

The Battlax V02 Racing Slick, available to the UK trade from Cambrian Tyres, features the latest in MotoGP derived technologies all tested and approved by Valentino Rossi. This includes GP-Belt technology which has been especially developed to limit tyre deformation, ensuring an optimum contact patch size on track in order to generate higher grip. A Mono Spiral Belt also provides greater stability.
