Adrea Dovizioso fought off strong challenges from both Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa at Catalunya last weekend to take his second win in a row after victory at Mugello the week before.
Starting from 7th place on the grid, Dovizioso was well down the order with teammate Lorenzo starting in second behind Pedrosa on pole.
Dovi used his hard front and medium rear Power Slick tyres hard to climb up to second place by lap 8, and eventually found a way to the front of the pack on lap 17 of 25.
From there on in he worked to build a lead over the Honda’s and crossed the line 3.5 seconds in front of Marquez at the flag with Pedrosa in third.
Jonas Folger finished in 5th place behind Lorenzo, climbing the order after starting back in 14th place.
Sadly for series leader Maverick Vinales he could only finish in 10th, which means Dovi has cut his points lead down to just 7, with Marquez a further 16 points behind on 88.
Next up it’s Assen in just under two weeks time.
