The Michelin sponsored Buildbase Honda motocross team travelled north last weekend to the sandy Preston Docks circuit in Lancashire for the penultimate round of the 2014 MX Nationals Championship. A full crew was in attendance, with riders Brad Anderson, Elliott Banks-Browne and Nez Parker all competing on the Honda CRF450R machine.
An unfortunate issue with medical cover at Preston Docks on the Saturday saw the round reduced to just two races, both taking place on the Sunday. The first race of the day saw Anderson and Parker both crash out, whilst Elliott held it together to finish in fourth, just outside the podium places. The two other riders both managed to remount, but only came in 12th and 17th.
In the second race Elliott’s recurring problems with arm pump saw him drop from 2nd to 6th, but Anderson pushed hard to finish in 3rd. Parker crashed out of the race on the opening lap, with recovered to take 9th.
At the end of the weekend, Anderson managed pulled off some damage limitation with a 6th placed overall finish which leaves him 3rd in the MX1 championships. Browne finished 4th overall, leaving him in 7th whilst Parkers 14th place leaves him 18th with one round to go.
