Michelin Riders In Action At Whitby Trials

Michelin trials tyres trade supplier UKJames Dabill just missed out on the win in the final round of the 2015 British Trials Championship, although he had already wrapped up the title just a few weeks earlier.

The Michelin sponsored trials rider was in action along with 15 other riders on the North Yorkshire Moors, high above the fishing town of Whitby. All riders were required to complete three circuits of the challenging course which featured 12 obstacles in total, and the warm conditions proved to be testing for competitors, with Iwan Roberts beating Dabill by a single point, with Jorge Casales in third place.

Roberts gave himself an early advantage on the opening lap, just ahead of Dabill and Casales, with Alexz Wigg also in contention. Dabill took it up a gear in the final lap to try and catch the leader, but fell just short of the mark despite his late charge.

Seven riders in the top ten were running the class leading Michelin Trials X-Light Comp tyres, and a total of eight from the total nine rounds were won by a Michelin rider, highlighting their dominance on the trials scene.

Third placed Jorge Casales commented following the event:

“I have really enjoyed this year’s series, which has tested my abilities on a different type of terrain to those I find in Spain. It has proved to me that my Michelin X-Light tyres can win in any conditions. Thank you to everyone in the country who has made me feel welcome.”
