Michelin & Lampkin Victorious At Scottish 6 Days

Dougie Lampkin Scottish 6 Days TrialDougie Lampkin and Michelin are celebrating a superb win at the Scottish 6 Days Trial, after Lampkin secured his 9th win at the famous event.

After securing an advantage in the latter part of the event, he pulled away from the remaining riders on the final day, under brilliant sunshine. The final day consisted of 50 miles and 30 hazards, but Lampkin was calm and collected as he lost just a single mark.

Lampkin is also the manager of the Vertigo Team, who entered a total of 6 prototype machines, with five making it to the finish. All were using the Michelin X-Light Comp tyres which once again proved they are the best trials tyre in the business.

Behind Lampkin, Gas Gas team riders, Gary Macdonald and Sam Haslam, finished with the same amount of points, with Macdonald taking the runner up berth on the tie-break decision. After collecting many time penalties on Tuesday, Lampkin’s teammate in the Vertigo squad, James Dabill, fought back from a lowly 25th position on Tuesday to finish in fourth. The top five was rounded off with Richard Sadler.

Michelin sponsored Emma Bristow also topped the ladies event on her Sherco machine, with fellow Michelin rider Becky Cook also coming in second to give the French manufacturer a 1 – 2 on the podium.
