Kawasaki Bring Back The ZX-6R For 2019!

Kawasaki ZX-6R 2019

Is the supersport market in the UK ready for some kind of revival?

Well, Kawasaki seem to be somewhat optimistic following the launch of a brand new ZX-6R which is due to hit dealer showrooms in 2019.

The introduction of Euro 4 was touted as the death of the supersport, as one-by-one the big name brands dropped some pretty big models from their line-up – with the exception of Yamaha and their swiftly updated YZF-R6.

Kawasaki’s new ZX-6R was officially unveiled at EICMA in Milan last week, and includes a number of eye-catching features on the spec sheet including:

  • KQS quickshifter
  • New ECO mode for longer tours
  • LED headlights
  • Showa SFF forks
  • New rear spring

Bridgestone Battlax S22

When it comes to tyres, the Kawasaki is set to roll out of the factory on the very latest Battlax S22 from Bridgestone.

The Battlax S22 is the Japanese tyre maker’s brand new hypersport tyre, which utilises their MotoGP derived U-EYE Technology for optimal behaviour at all angles of lean.

We recently look at the new Bridgestone in detail, and you can find out more about that here.

Kawasaki’s new ZX-6R will use a 120/70 ZR17 front and 180/55 ZR17 rear.

We can’t tell you when the new bike will be available, but we do know the Battlax S22 will land in the UK in early January 2019.
