Enduro Stars Visit Michelin UK HQ

Michelin Enduro TyresOur friends at Michelin Tyres UK were recently paid a visit by two top British Enduro Championship stars earlier this month.

Tom Sagar, the Michelin backed 2014 championship winner, was joined by fellow Michelin rider Brad Freeman, who lies in 4th place with one more race to go this season.

Both riders run on KTM, and Tom paid tribute to the performance of his Michelin tyres, which have helped him claim the overall title for the 4th time in his career:

“Enduro is such a punishing event,” he said. “The tyres have to cope with all sorts of surfaces, from mud to grass to dry, jagged rocks.

“The Michelins wear really well and hold their shape well. That’s especially important in a long, hard event like enduro because it means I have more tyre left towards the end of the race than my competitors.”

Brad is current junior champion, and has turning heads all year long in his first season after stepping up from Expert class.

He said: “It’s a big difference but I’ve really enjoyed the season. I’ve been travelling around with Tom and we get on really well.

“Enduro pushes tyres to the absolute limit because of the extremes they are subjected to and the length of time they have to perform.

“The tyres not only last the distance, they still act like a tyre right the way through. They have to wear with grip, and that’s exactly what the Michelins do.”
